Fives Privacy Policy
Fives is a card game for iPhone and Android published by Nasahsirah Tech, LLC, a Georgia (USA) limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We collect only what the game needs to work.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Account identifiers: a random guest ID created on your device; if you choose to sign in, the ID that Apple, Google or Facebook gives us for you, or your email address if you sign in with an email code. | To recognise your account, keep your chips and games, and let you use the same account on another phone. |
| Screen name and display name: the screen name you choose (for example "Big H304"); otherwise "Guest ABCD" or the name your sign-in provider shares. Your avatar and friends list. | Other players see your screen name exactly as you typed it, or, without one, only your first name and last initial (for example "Sam K."). Players can search for screen names to add friends; a friend's online status is shown only when both of you have added each other. Your email address is never shown. |
| Game data: your games, moves, results, chip balance and chip history. | To run online games fairly, settle chips correctly and keep games going between sessions. |
| Chip purchases: the product bought and the store's transaction ID. | To add the chips once. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card details. |
| Chat messages in online games, and reports and blocks. | To deliver messages, filter abuse, and review reports. Messages are filtered automatically before your opponent sees them. |
| Technical data: IP address and basic connection logs. | To operate and secure the service. Logs are kept for a short time. |
Practice games against the computer and pass-and-play games stay on your device. We do not collect your location, contacts or photos.
Ads
Fives shows ads through Unity LevelPlay and the ad networks it works with. To show and measure ads, these partners receive device information such as your IP address, device type and, only if you allow it, your device's advertising identifier. On first launch Fives asks whether you want personalised ads; on iPhone, Apple's tracking prompt also asks. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not based on your activity in other apps. Ads give no chips, except the optional daily chip ad in Buy Chips. Banner and full-screen ads are turned off while you have a Fives Plus or Fives Premium membership. Unity's privacy policy: unity.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Notifications, analytics and crash reports
Notifications: if you allow them, your phone's push token (from Apple or Google) is stored with your account so we can tell you when it's your move, you have a challenge, or a game ended. Turn them off any time in your phone's settings. Analytics: if you answer yes on the first-launch privacy question, the app sends simple usage events (for example "tutorial finished", "game ended: won") to Unity Analytics to help us improve the game; no messages or names are included. Crash reports: when the app crashes, a technical report (device model, app version, the error) is sent to Unity so we can fix it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use these service providers only to run the game:
- Microsoft Azure: hosts the game server and database.
- Twilio (SendGrid): sends email sign-in codes, if you use email sign-in.
- Apple, Google, Facebook: confirm your identity when you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to your use of their sign-in.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: process chip purchases.
- Unity LevelPlay and its ad networks: show ads (see Ads above).
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the service from fraud or abuse.
Chips
Chips are for play only. They have no cash value and cannot be cashed out, transferred or exchanged for money or prizes.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data while your account exists. Reported chat messages and moderation decisions may be kept for up to one year to handle abuse. Purchase records are kept as required for accounting.
Your choices
- Delete your account at any time in the app: Settings › Account › Delete my account. This removes your sign-ins and name; your games in progress are forfeited. Purchase records are kept without anything that identifies you.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or for corrections, by emailing [email protected].
- You can block other players and report messages from the chat window.
Children
Fives is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to our server are encrypted. Guest secrets are stored on your device in its secure storage (the iPhone Keychain) and only a one-way hash is kept on our server.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
